The 67th Thanksgiving Parade in Houston and the 97th Mayor Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony in Houston organized by the City of Houston, entered the countdown phase. Houston government held a press briefing at City Of Houston at local time, 10:30am of October 27, 2016. Houston Mayor, local government officials, festival sponsors and more than 30 senior media representatives attended the press briefing.
In the relaxed atmosphere of the conference, Turner, mayor of Houston was excited to say: “I am honored and delighted to be involved in this year’s two festivals of Houston-the 67th Thanksgiving Parade and the 97th The Mayor Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, which is also my first official event since I became mayor. Thanks for all my friends and sponsors to support me”
Magical Winter Lights co-organized by Sichuan Salient Culture Trade Group., (Salient) Ltd and People Generation Global Communications (PG), was so fortunate to be a sponsor of these two traditional celebration in Houston and has the opportunity to introduce Chinese lantern culture to the citizens in Houston. Magical Winter Lights also added other new elements to holiday activities in Houston.
Turner announced at the press briefing that Magical Winter Lights became the new sponsor of two events as the first Chinese delegation. He also mentioned that Magical Winter Lights will use newly designed float with the world themed element of classic lantern groups to participate in Thanksgiving Parade, and the float also represents cultural and ethnic diversity of Houston.
The 67th Thanksgiving Parade will be held in Downtown Houston at local time, 9 am of November 24, 2016. Floats with various topics, balloons, cheerleaders, dancers and marching bands will join it. The Thanksgiving Parade started from 1924 and was held on Thanksgiving Day of each year (the fourth Thursday in November of every year).
Mayor lighting Christmas tree ceremony is one of the most important traditional activities for the Christmas and New Year holidays in the United States. The Christmas tree lighting activity marks the beginning of the Christmas holiday. Mayor will lead Santa Claus and guests to express the New Year’s wishes to Houston citizens and light up the Christmas tree. The event of the 97th Mayor Lighting Christmas tree will be held on December 2, 2016 at the Hermann Square.
Magical Winter Lights is a large-scale lantern festival, jointly held by Salient and PG. This lantern festival will be held from November 18, 2016 to January 8, 2017 at Greyhound Park of Houston.
