The day of November 18, 2016 was destined to be a festive and fantastic day for enthusiastic Houston citizens. On this day, the 2016 Magical Winter Lights was jointly held by People Generation Global Communications (PG) and Sichuan Salient Culture Trade Group., Ltd (Salient) and its opening ceremony officially started at Gulf Greyhound Park of Houston.

Magical Winter Lights, the largest lantern festival ever staged in the U.S, was held in the same city of same country on the same day of last year. Houston citizens learned more about Chinese traditional lanterns. Chinese traditional acrobatic performances, two shows of a night let the U.S audience know more about Chinese superb skills. Carnival rides and games covering an area of 20,000 square meters and international and local food vendors attracted every visitors and families come to the festival site and enjoy the fantastic environment. At the scene of the festival, many successful proposing marriages have been witnessed by Magical Winter Lights and Magical Winter Lights has become a festival with connotations, humanity and stories. This year, Houston suffered the most rainfall from the past of 100 years. Under the condition of bad weather, Magical Winter Lights still attracted more than 200,000 tourists. The successful holding of the 2015 Magical Winter Lights has strengthened more our determination to make the Magical Winter Lights become a classic local holiday in Houston and will be held one after another.

The 2016 Magical Winter Lights in Houston also suffered many difficulties. In order to ensure the opening of the festival starts on schedule, we overcame the tight transportation and construction period. The opening ceremony of this festival was successfully held on November 18, 2016. In order to give visitors better experience, we choose this festival site at the Gulf Greyhound Park of Houston. This festival includes seven fascinating themed sections: Magical Wonderland, Landmarks of The World, Dinosaur Land, Man And Nature, Mystery Of The East and Holiday Market Square. 60% of them are redesigned and more beautiful and brilliant. At the same time, we have injected more interactive elements and lantern groups into the lantern design so that tourists can take pictures together with various lanterns and also enjoy Interactive fun. We can also see the unique acrobatics, intangible cultural heritage performances, delicious food areas and amusement carnival project, and they are more various, colorful and innovative. In addition, the dinosaur exhibition and the indoor dinosaurs experience hall are another highlights. In the indoors dinosaurs hall, there placed a number of different types of simulation dinosaurs and dinosaur fossils with detailed English introductions.
