At 8:00 pm, Aug 2, 2017, the presentation recommendation of Sichuan Intangible Cultural Heritage to the U.S and the third Magical Winter Lights in Houston was held at Huanhuaxipan of Chengdu, Sichuan Province. Zheng Xiaoxing, chairman of Sichuan association of Literature and Art, Zhao Hongchuan, deputy Chief of Sichuan Department of Culture and leaders of other department such as culture, tourism, business and friendship association attended the forums.

On the scene, this event officially started with the background of the giant panda lantern presenting Sichuan and the rocket lantern presenting Houston. Sichuan Salient Culture Trade Group., Ltd (Salient), the investment sponsor of Magical Winter Lights reviewed the success of the 2015 and 2016 Magical Winter Lights in Houston. Ms. Cheng Yunsi, the founder and president of People Generation Global Communications (PG), shared they are how to introduce Chinese traditional culture to the festivals and make the Magical inter Lights become an influential holiday in the United States. Zheng Xiaoxing expressed her appreciation for the new model combining Sichuan Intangible traditional lantern culture with the American carnival. The 2017 Magical Winter Lights in Houston will start on November 10, 2017 and once again shined off the city. Compared with previous festivals, this lantern festival has larger scale and more elements, and lantern areas will be divided into seven fascinating themed sections with more than 100 lantern groups with different themes, different styles and different sizes. Visitors can visit from the Dream World into the Singular Forest, enjoy the Texas style in the southern part of the United States after viewing the Huaxia Palace Lantern that represents Chinese culture, saunter into the Christmas Carnival Plaza after returning to the Jurassic Age and finally go to Travel Around the World to enjoy the scenery beauty around the world.

During the festival, Chengdu Cultural Week will also be held. On the basis of traditional acrobatic performances, Inheritors of Sichuan intangible cultural heritage, from Chengdu, Sichuan, the hometown of the Panda, will give a two-week live performance at the festival district to show the traditional folk instruments, mask-changing, spiting fire, bamboo weaving, sugar painting, flour sculpture, paper cutting and other well-known Sichuan intangible heritage shows for Houston citizens and foreign tourists. Visitors can experience the wonderful intangible heritage culture during the day and fell the profound and infinite charm of Chinese traditional culture.
